INSPIRED BY NATURE.
GROUNDED IN EARTH.
From the moment my hands met clay I was hooked. The sensuality of spinning clay, the symmetry of the wheel, the heat of firing…these things connect me acrosss time and cultures to others who have used their hands to work clay.
I spent most of my life in Wallaceburg Ontario, but have recently made the Bruce Peninsula my home. Surrounded by nature, I draw inspiration from the crystal waters of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, the rugged landscape and teeming forests of Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula. I draw from my surroundings to create my work.
From 1997-2000 I completed the 4 levels of Wheel Thrown Pottery, Raku Fired Pottery and Sculpture at Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario. This laid the foundation for the last 22 years of “playing with mud”.
